Day 01 - Course Introduction and Topic Overview

Welcome to the first session of our  CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) course! In this video, we'll introduce you to the essential concepts of CEH, explain why being smarter than hackers is crucial, and provide an overview of the course curriculum. Whether you're new to cybersecurity or looking to advance your skills, this session is packed with valuable insights and practical examples to get you started. Join us as we dive into the world of forensic investigation and learn how to uncover hidden data and track cybercriminals.

  1. Course Introduction: CEH is about being smarter than hackers by understanding how to retrieve and analyze hidden or deleted data.
  2. Importance of Forensics: Emphasizes the importance of forensic investigation in cybersecurity to catch hackers and recover data.
  3. Course Curriculum Overview: The course will cover various aspects of computer forensics, including data acquisition, defeating anti-forensic techniques, and investigating different platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac), networks, web attacks, and dark web activities.
  4. Practical Examples: The instructor provides examples like recovering data from a formatted pen drive or using Wireshark to capture data packets, illustrating the practical applications of forensic techniques.
  5. Course Structure: The CHFI course is structured similarly to networking courses like CCNA and CCNP, progressing from basic to advanced topics over approximately six weeks.
  6. Student Engagement: The instructor encourages student interaction and understanding, asking for feedback and clarifications throughout the session.

The session aims to lay a foundational understanding of computer forensics and set the stage for more detailed and technical topics to be covered in subsequent classes.
